SUMMARY:Morning Bird Walk
DESCRIPTION:Join TEAC for a guided bird walk led by expert birder Yoni Rabino. An experienced leader and dedicated “lister” who has led our groups in the past\, Yoni brings a wealth of knowledge regarding local and migratory species of the East Coast\, with a specialized knack for identifying birds by both sight and sound. \nWe’ll meet at the Hikers Parking Lot (located at the end of Wilson Park Drive where it meets Tower Hill Road); please remember to bring your binoculars to get the best views! Our route explores the ecosystem bordered by Rockefeller State Park\, a designated Audubon Important Bird Area (IBA) — a global distinction given to places that provide essential habitat for one or more species of birds at any stage of their life cycle\, making it a premier corridor for birding. We’ll bring the coffee!

SUMMARY:Friends of the Riverwalk Workday
DESCRIPTION:FRW will be out on the RiverWalk unless thunderstorms or other severe weather moves in. We will try to make the call to reschedule the day prior if possible. \nPlease see the attached Friends of the RiverWalk 2026 Workdays flyer. \nOur mission remains the same: Assisting the Parks Department staff in establishing and maintaining plants\, infrastructure and amenities. \nWith the severe weather the region has experienced\, pruning will be our focus\, secondary only to trash removal. Early invasive removal will follow. We hope you will join us as spring unfolds and being outside is again a pleasure. There will be gloves\, bags and tools available for adults and kids. We will be happy to show you areas we recommend for work. \nScheduled Park projects include: North RiverWalk irrigation system repair\, planting of No Mow grass on at least one of the walkways into the Park\, new and relocated plantings. A big part of the planting is soil preparation\, so expect to see that transition. \nPlease join us to help keep the RiverWalk clean and beautiful.
